Delicious Sweet And Sour Chicken Wing Recipes

Sweet and sour chicken wings  are a quick, simple, and delicious menu. Its crunchy touch, flavor and aroma seduce any palate.

In addition, you can prepare them fried or baked, the idea is that they are golden on the outside and juicy on the inside. The final touch will be given by the sauce that accompanies the main ingredient.

Sweet and sour chicken wings can be served perfectly as a second course. In turn they are also a perfect option for an afternoon of snacking.

If seasoned properly, they will be a delicacy. A good recommendation that can be useful is to cut the wings in two. In this way, each diner can choose the part they like the most.

Also, if at the end of cooking we  decorate them with some sesame seeds, they will seem much more appetizing.

Spicy Chicken Wings

Sweet and sour chicken wings with a hint of pineapple

To make this delicious recipe, we will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup of tomato sauce or ketchup (200 ml)
  • White vinegar and pineapple juice (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon of cornstarch or thickener (5 g)
  • 10 chicken wings cut in two (1 kg)
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar (30 g)
  • Sesame, salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Mustard and Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1 or 2 slices of fresh pineapple
  • Oil for frying

Preparation

First, clean the wings well, removing the feathers and tips. Next, season  the pieces with salt and pepper. In turn, for those who have decided to use mustard and Worcestershire sauce, this is the time to add them.

In addition, the flavor will be more intense if it is left to marinate for at least one hour. Therefore, it is advisable to do it in a container with a lid that we will put in the fridge.

Next, we put oil to heat in a pan and, when it is at the right temperature, we add the wings to fry them.

Then, in the same pan, we put the rest of the ingredients:

  • Ketchup
  • The sugar
  • The vinegar
  • Pineapple juice
  • The fruit cut into small cubes

Next, we carefully stir the mixture. Then, when it starts to boil, add the cornstarch previously dissolved in water and without lumps. Meanwhile, you must continue stirring so that the sauce thickens.

Once the sauce is ready, add the chicken wings and cook for 5 more minutes over low heat. When removing from the heat, we place the cooked one on a tray and sprinkle the sesame seeds. To enjoy!

Sweet and sour chicken wings with honey and lemon

It is another ideal aperitif. In addition, we will give it a different touch, between salty, sweet and sour.

Ingredients

  • Chicken wings (1 kg)
  • Garlic (2-3 cloves, 30 g)
  • Honey (4 tablespoons, 60 g)
  • Rosemary, salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Soy sauce (4 tablespoons, 60 g)
  • Olive oil (4 tablespoons, 40 g)
  • Lemon juice (4 tablespoons, 80 ml)

Preparation

As always, the first thing to do is clean, wash and dry the wings. Subsequently, we put the honey, soy sauce, garlic, oil, lemon juice, a little salt and a pinch of pepper in the blender glass.

Then, we put the chicken wings in a saucepan and cover them with the mixture obtained from blending the ingredients from the previous step. While stirring, add some rosemary leaves. Then, we let them rest in the covered casserole for 1 or 2 hours.

Now, we preheat the oven to 200 ÂșC. When we have everything ready, we will put the chicken wings on a baking tray with a jet of oil. Finally, we will bake for 45 minutes.

Sweet and sour oriental style chicken wings

In this recipe, we will cook some delicious sweet and sour chicken wings with an oriental touch. We will need the following ingredients:

  • 1/2 kilo of chicken wings
  • Water (4 tablespoons, 80 ml)
  • Soy sauce (1 tablespoon, 15 g)
  • Corn flour (1 tablespoon, 10 g)
  • Orange juice (3 tablespoons, 60 ml)
  • Tomato sauce or tomato concentrate (1 tablespoon, 15 g)

To prepare the dish, first wash and dry the wings. Afterwards, season them with salt and pepper to your liking. Finally, fry them in a pan until golden brown and let them cool until you make the sauce.

Next, to make the sauce, follow these steps:

  1. First, dissolve the cornstarch in a bowl of water and, meanwhile,  stir to avoid clumping.
  2. Then, place the sugar, vinegar, tomato paste, soy and orange juice in a saucepan.
  3. When it is about to boil, add the cornstarch. Then stir for a few minutes until it thickens.
  4. When the sauce is ready, remove from the heat and then let it cool. Afterwards, it can be served on the wings or placed in a separate bowl for spreading.
