7 Things To Avoid Right After Eating

Although it may seem that there is no relationship between eating and the consequences of certain actions, the truth is that there are a series of  errors in which it is better not to fall if we have just eaten.

So if you want to preserve your health and well-being, take note of these five tips on things to avoid right after eating.

1. Exercise

Exercising after eating is not recommended. It is best if you do it before or well after having eaten (wait, at least, two hours).

And is that exercising on the stomach can cause hiccups and nausea, as well as injuries and cramps.

  • In the event that you do not have time to do it at another time, it is best to opt for something quieter such as taking a walk.

2. Smoking

No Smoking

Tobacco is never good, but if we are also digesting, it is much worse.

And it is that during those moments all the systems of our body work and, if it is smoked in that period of time, the nicotine will be absorbed much faster.

The consequences? It will further increase its negative effect.

  • In addition, tobacco can block the process of absorption of vitamins and minerals, as important as calcium and vitamins C and D.

Avoid smoking for at least the first 20 minutes after eating.

3. Be careful with the nap

Eating and going to sleep right away can be harmful.

And, although the truth is that this habit does not cause overweight, as was initially thought, the truth is that it does increase acidity, as well as the risk of suffering a stroke.

The solution? Is simple. You just have to follow the recommendation of the specialists who affirm that it is not advisable to sleep until at least two hours after having eaten or dined.

4. Take a shower

Taking a shower after eating is not recommended, something that can also be applied to going to the pool.

And, when we bathe, our body temperature rises slightly, so the body needs to send more blood than usual.

All this can affect the digestive process and end up slowing down digestion.

The solution? Wait at least 30 minutes to take your bath after the meal and you will avoid these possible setbacks of the most uncomfortable.

5. Drink tea

Drinking tea after eating is a fairly widespread custom, but the truth is that it is not very healthy.

It is a type of drink that prevents the absorption of iron, so it is something that should be taken into account, especially if we suffer from anemia.

If you have an iron deficiency or if you are pregnant, it is best not to drink tea for at least an hour.

If you can’t do without a hot drink, you can opt for coffee, which does not have these drawbacks.

6. Eat fruit

Although it may seem otherwise, having a piece of fruit after eating is not the best idea.

And the fact is that the digestion of fruit is not always as simple as you might think, but rather the opposite: fruits require different enzymes to digest.

In addition, the simple sugars in fruits take time to be fully absorbed by the body.

The best thing is that you choose to take it when you have an empty stomach: this way you will benefit from all the nutrients, fibers and simple sugars.

Remember that fruit is mainly made up of fructose. This can be converted faster than we think to glucose. However, you can avoid it if you consume it in the right way.

Find the right time so that your body can really effectively assimilate all the nutrients that the fruit provides.

7. Watch your belt

If you usually wear a belt, make sure that you do not wear it tighter than necessary after eating. And it is that this simple gesture could lead to completely unwanted intestinal problems.

Take it into account and it will be much better for your digestions and your well-being.
