5 Recommendations To Improve Your Life With Children

Children at home must never be absent. They may be younger siblings, cousins, children, or even others that we must attend to… And although we usually call them “little angels”, the truth is that it is  difficult to take care of them.

Nor is it a question of pointing them out. As children, they are individuals prone to exploration. Their curious spirit allows them, little by little, to delve into that unknown world that surrounds them.

Precisely for this reason, curiosity will lead them to investigate all parts of the home. Thus, they will open and close doors, windows, run, hide and do whatever comes to mind.

This leads us to have to consider several things. The first is that they can drain the patience of those who supervise or care for them. The second, of course, is that they can get hurt on their journey of fantasy and discovery.

Therefore, we detail a series of recommendations that it is important to take into account to improve life with children, especially at home.

1. Securing edges and corners

If we think about it, the home can be a death trap for a child.

For obvious reasons, for an adult, conditions change. Thanks to previous experience,  we already know, foresee and avoid the risks around us. However, the opposite is true for children, who are just beginning to live and understand these risks.

One of them is the edges and corners of things, dangerous for children, especially babies.

The threat lies in the low height of the tables. These usually have sharp edges, which can hurt the child’s face or head. For this reason, it is recommended to line them with “worm” floats.

It does not matter if the edges are made of wood or glass, it is better to be safe.

2. Doors adjusted rather than closed

Something similar happens with the doors in terms of the edges. They can become a great danger to children, especially their small and fragile fingers.

Accidents in which the hands or fingers are caught often happen when closing a door. This happens when the child does not recognize the danger, he grabs the edge and closes it. To prevent this, a piece of ‘worm’ float can be used and placed on the edge of the door.

The ideal is to house it in an area where the child cannot remove it. In this way, the door will not close and painful bruises will be prevented.

3. Protect plugs and outlets

Plug

It is very common for children to be attracted to the design of plugs and sockets that, at first glance, look like a ‘face’. However, as friendly as they are, of course, they are dangerous.

The recommendation is to protect them. To do this, just stick an adhesive band and that’s it. Simple, inexpensive, practical and, above all, safe. In addition, there are protectors on the market.

4. Avoid opening the fridge

One of the most curious places for babies or young children is the refrigerator. It’s like a magic cupboard full of food and fun colors. Therefore, it becomes a great challenge for them.

Perhaps your idea is not entirely wrong. The fridge has food, nice colors (inside), and even for the adult it is a temptation. However, it can carry a lot of dangers for the infant. For that reason, you cannot be left at their mercy.

To prevent it from being easily opened, two adhesive hangers or hooks and an elastic band are used. One is placed on the door and another next to it, in order to avoid its opening.

Ideally, place this security system in a high place, so that children do not reach it.

5. Securing the cabinets

closet

This is another one of the really appetizing places with doors for a child. His curiosity almost forces him to explore to see what is housed inside.

In this case, the doors must be secured. Furthermore, s i is possible with elastic bands and a small knot, much better.
